Elevate Coweta Students

Mentor Mission

The mission of the Mentor program is to connect community members and school resources for the purpose of fostering the development of a caring relationship between a responsible adult and a student in the Coweta county school system. This relationship will help strengthen the ability of the student to overcome adverse circumstances, stay in school and become a more productive citizen not only in school but at home and in our community.

"Our mentoring program is something that's just key for us. To be able to have a caring adult that takes time to invest in a deep, meaningful relationship with a student; I can't begin to describe the difference that that can make. Research will show you that a deep, meaningful relationship with a caring adult can be the catalyst for academic achievement. We've seen that through our mentor program. We're always looking out for mentors, we want more. We want every single student in our system that is in need of that deep, meaningful relationship to have an adult that they can connect with. That's the service that ELEVATE currently provides for our district and for our students. You can't get enough caring adults that want to invest their time and energy into your kids, so we want as many as we can get."

Dr. Evan Horton, Coweta County Schools Superintendent

We are looking for men and women, 18 years of age or older, to come and be a part of this wonderful program. It makes such a difference in the lives of our students who participate.
